PIWEE DESFRAY

Piwee starts playing the drums at 11 y/old, with excellent professor Alain Dautricourt, who will guide him during 7 years. He will participate to the Trophée Sonor, French national drums contest, and will obtain at 18, its 1st Price Trophée in Excellence.

He also plays the bass, and studies then the musicology for 5 years at the university, and CNSM, to obtain a Master’s degree and the knowledge in harmony, counterpoint, composition, orchestration, arrangement…

Revealed during the BAGSHOW at the Trianon Paris in 2002, sharing stage with Virgil Donati, Thomas Lang, Gregg Bissonnette, Trilok Gurtu… as well as in 2005, he begins his first demos and masterclasses, in particular as demonstrator for Roland.

He started gigs on stage at 12, while accompanying his father pianist, and by playing in bands. He will so join FAIRYLAND (symphonic Speed metal), for their second album, and their European tour (Kamelot’s support in 2007). He also played with TWIN-TWIN (Hip-hop Slam).
In 2008, he joins HEAVENLY, last album went out in December 2009 via Sony Sony/BMG/XIIIbis records. He also plays in the trio Jazz-Fusion-Afro, KIKI Bocande Band. He also collaborates with twins guitarists Michael and Raphael Medde for their solo album featuring Oneida James on bass (Joe Cocker).
Now, he accompanies the singer/drummer Renaud HANTSON.

A few press articles and songs from his composition have been edited in Batteur Magazine, Batterie Mag (France).

Another facet of his musical activities is about writing symphonic music for his personal project, and for movie writers or other works dealing with pictures.
His last creation for the film AZZMETA has been nominated to the JERRY GOLDSMITH AWARDS 2013.
